Write yourself a new story.

I spent much of my life trying to figure out how to prove myself to earn love. When I really woke up to the fact that I was living my life trying to achieve and doing what I thought I was “supposed to” do, everything changed. Now I’m helping other people wake up, too.

It’s not like I figured it out suddenly one day. I was working with therapists and coaches, going to workshops and retreats, reading, journaling. I was actively working on myself. I still am. I will be working on myself all my life. And I am so glad I’ve gotten to where I am already.

It takes intention to explore new ways of thinking and try on new stories to make sense of the world around you. Figuring out how you fit into it, how you’ve molded yourself to fit into it, and whether or not that’s who you want to continue to be. The opportunity is there when you’re ready for it.

Work with me if...

  • You feel stuck, stagnant, and totally disconnected from yourself
  • You’re always trying to be what you think others need you to be
  • You’re yearning to let go of expectations and supposed tos
  • You make most of your decisions out of fear
  • You’re ready to discover who you really are
  • You understand the concept of boundaries, but can’t seem to actually set any
  • You’re ready to question what you believe
  • You’re ready for your life to be more aligned with your values
  • Therapy isn’t getting you where you want to go
  • You’re willing to be challenged
If you are ready for change in your life, join me in exploring your roots, discovering your true Self, reclaiming your magic, growing your capacity, and healing old wounds.

DOn't just take it from me...

Martha brings an innate strength to her coaching sessions that both lifts a client up and pushes them to the bounds of their comfort zone, all in an effort to help the client be the best version of their authentic self
Antoinette B
We were so grateful that Martha was able to support our team by assisting one of our agents with connecting to his most authentic self so that he could generate business in a way that was not just comfortable for him but offered the energy to be able to do it day after day. It’s a rare thing for a coach to be able to provide a safe space for someone and help them grow. Martha is one of those people who just gets humans and has an incredible impact on the people lucky to know her. Thank you Martha!

I worked with Martha for well over a year. I found her coaching style authentic and felt she was a person who genuinely wants to help. We worked through many issues together, and I always looked forward to our coaching sessions. If you're looking for a coach you can truly be yourself with and discover new parts of yourself with, Martha is your person.

About Me.

Most people know me as a kickass real estate agent and founder of Shift Real Estate. Around mid-2022, I started to think that real estate wasn’t really where I belonged. While on a trip in Bali with my partner, Mollie, I decided to sign up for a 16 month life coaching training program, which I completed in December 2023. I also participated in an herbalism apprenticeship with Spoonful Herbals for 6 months in 2023. I experienced a lot of powerful transformation through these programs, and I’m so excited to share that with the world.

Through these experiences, I grew a sense of spirituality that I never had. My ancestors were once called witches, healers. They were connected with spirits, with the energy around them, with the earth. They cured disease, they brought life into the world and shepherded others out. Their descendants strayed from magic because it wasn’t safe anymore–they literally could have been burned at the stake.

Once I connected with this energy in myself, I realized I had two choices. I could either spend my life continuing to bury those parts of myself and pass along that repression to future generations, or I could begin the work of unburying generations of trauma to lighten the load. I choose to do the work and reclaim these identities; witch, herbalist, healer.

Besides all the woo stuff, I spend a lot of time outside, and plenty of time on the couch reading and streaming. Snuggling dogs is one of my favorite activities. I love getting my hands dirty, putzing, and researching random things. I enjoy silly puns and dad jokes.

I value curiosity, compassion, ease, joy, and generosity and I try to live by those values every day. I imagine new paradigms that are free, expansive, abundant, and reciprocal. I am intuitive, creative, and sometimes a bit chaotic. I live in Worcester, Vermont with my partner, Mollie, our dogs Goose and Faoladh, cat Monkey, and 15 chickens (well, they live outside).

I can help you with...

Transitions

Life transitions can be really disorienting. Whether you are in the middle of one, planning one, or think you might need one, I can help you work through it.

Getting Started

Do you know what you want but can't seem to get there? I can support you by helping you find what you need within yourself.

Existential Crises

I have these a lot. If you're having trouble finding meaning anywhere, I will listen and help you find your own meaning.

General Support

You don't need to have anything in particular in mind to work on. Shit's just rough sometimes. If you're struggling, I'd like to help.

Relationships

I get it. They take a lot of work. I can help you get clarity and identify feelings, needs, and boundaries you might need to set and work on building healthy relationships.

Feeling stuck.

Know you need something different but can't figure out what? Let's explore it together.

How to work with me

business coaching

Similar to 1:1 coaching, but with a twist. I know how hard it can be to be true to yourself in business, to balance business and personal, and to hold boundaries as a small business owner or real estate professional. We’ll focus on all aspects of you and your life. I will help you figure out if your business is aligned with your values and evaluate what’s working and what’s not.

My experience as a business owner and running a real estate team have given me the experience and understanding to help YOU feel more aligned within your life and your business.

Sessions are virtual via Google Meet, with an option to meet in person in Montpelier, VT if you’re local.

Base price: $200/one hour session

Sliding scale range is $150-250

1:1 Coaching

If you haven’t done much therapy or coaching before, this is what I would suggest starting with. We’ll work 1:1 and explore what’s pertinent to you right now.

You’ll do most of the talking, and my focus is on asking you powerful questions to help you find clarity. I will guide you in connecting with your higher Self and other parts, identifying where there is disconnect in your life, and creating new patterns to move towards a more meaningful life.

Sessions are virtual via Google Meet, with an option to meet in person in Montpelier, VT if you’re local.

Base price: $125/one hour session

Sliding scale range is $50-175

Group coaching

Healing spaces, coaching and therapy in particular, tend to be very individualistic. Part of the disconnection you might already be feeling comes from living in an individualistic society that urges us to silo ourselves off, compete with others to make ourselves stand out, and hide our pain.

Participating in a group gives you an opportunity to experience vulnerability with others in a safe container, to learn from each other, support each other, and to feel less alone in what you’re struggling with. Groups are loosely held, with guidance and facilitation but no particular agenda or curriculum to get through.

Groups run for 6 weeks, meeting once weekly for one hour and 15 minutes. Groups are 6-10 people and fill up on a rolling basis so there isn’t a designated start date; a cohort will start once it is filled. Day/time TBD based on participants’ availability.

For now, groups will meet virtually. Please indicate if you are interested in an in-person group in Montpelier, VT so that I can gauge interest in that option.

Base price: $444 for 6 weeks

Sliding scale range is $300-550

Please contact me if you are called to join a group but the cost makes it unobtainable for you.

Got questions?

Coaching is meant to help guide you through a set of challenges. One of the main differences between coaching and therapy is that therapy requires a diagnosis–a label for something that is wrong with you. As a coach, I believe that you are creative, resourceful, and whole and that there is nothing wrong with you.

I don’t think of myself as a typical coach. Some coaches tell you that they have the answers. They want you to hire them so they can tell you what to do. That’s not me.

I am not going to hand you any solutions. I am not going to give you a road map or tell you what to do. The answers and solutions are within you; I can help you find them, but I can’t tell you what they are. I will help you get to know yourself–beneath the layers of what others told you is “right” or what you’re “supposed” to do. You know your Self better than I ever can, and I can use my training and experience to help you navigate that.

I’ve done the healing work. I’m still doing it. I don’t have it all figured out. What I do have is a set of tools, the willingness, and the presence to help you do the work. No formulas, no right answers, just helping you to navigate your own experiences, values, and tendencies and empower you to make the changes you want to make. You can call it healing, recovery… Whatever. No one should have to do this work on their own.

I am a Certified Psychosynthesis Life Coach. I participated in a 144 hour training that took place over 16 months, with 12 in-person training weekends.

Besides the “official” qualification… I’ve always tended towards being someone who supports and motivates others. I got the “team mom” award on my varsity softball team. I’ve always been someone that people trust with their biggest secrets. I created a small team of real estate agents, Shift Real Estate, based on a common social mission and trained a handful of brand new agents (which, of course, involved coaching them!). I’ve also gone through a lot of coaching and therapy myself and have a lot to pass on from the lessons I learned (and continue to learn) there.

The short version is that it’s a transpersonal psychology. I think of it as a philosophy, science, and framework for understanding humans. The founder of the psychosynthesis, Roberto Assiagoli, was a contemporary of Freud and Jung. Where Freud was working with the lower unconscious (repressed memories, etc), Assiagioli wanted to also work with the higher unconscious, essentially looking at people as having a soul, and a set of traits and longings that they were born with and are called towards. He believed that we as humans are all searching for purpose and meaning. Psychosynthesis includes working with the higher Self, the Will, subpersonalities (like your inner child), polarities (like yin/yang), the unconscious mind, and much more. It is about synthesizing the many parts and callings of your Self.

Fun fact: the concept of subpersonalities existed within psychosynthesis prior to Charles Schwartz creating Internal Family Systems theory, and it’s believed that IFS was inspired by Schwartz studying psychosynthesis.

I don’t think of myself as being in competition with anyone else. You should work with whoever you feel called to!

Don’t spend so much time thinking about it. FEEL it. Does someone’s content make you feel seen? Make you feel uncomfortable? Does it challenge you? Are you noticing any emotions you have when you think about contacting them? It makes a lot of sense for you to have some fear and anticipation about choosing to open up to someone and to dive into some deep personal work. Listen to your body and your intuition. If it tells you to work with me, great. If not, that’s fine, too. If you aren’t sure, feel free to reach out for an intro chat. I’ll recommend someone else to work with if we aren’t a good fit.
